Community Support

Hanover Raceway is committed to supporting the growth and prosperity of its communities by
responsibly giving back and making a positive difference through its involvement in important local
initiatives, including:

• Salvation Army Food Drive: Hosted a food drive for the Salvation Army in July on their Christmas in July day.
• Student Start Up Program: Supported the local Student Start Up Program, where schoolchildren run an entrepreneur business and sell their products at the raceway. Free advertising and space in the Grandstand were provided to operate their business.
• Kid's Day: Hosted a Kid's Day at the raceway, providing prizes and school supplies to the participating students.
• Harness The Hope: Raised funds and awareness for breast cancer research. 
• Employee Head Shave Fundraiser: An employee shaved off her long hair, with funds raised donated to Harness The Hope and her hair donated to the Cancer Society.
• National Caretaker Appreciation Day: Hosted every year in support of the horse caretakers, providing a free lunch and other giveaways.
• Memorial Race Purses: Hosted 5 memorial races a year, with Hanover Raceway providing all the purse money, totalling $45,000.
• Charity Ticket Sales Support: Provided space in the Grandstand for local charity groups to sell tickets for 50/50 draws or prizes.
• Race Day Promotions: Hosted several activities on race days, providing gift cards or prizes to winners, including the Pick a Horse contest, birthday draws, and others.
• Hockey Club Fundraising Support: Donated beer can returns to a local hockey club to help them raise funds.
